अंजली आपल्या हॉस्टेल रूम वरून असीम सोबत फोन वर बोलत आहे. आणि असीम एका मेडिकल कॅम्प च्या आसपास उभा आहे .. मधे मधे चालतो, बसतो ..
अंजली : हॅलो सर, कसे आहात?
असीम : मी काय.. मिस करतोय तुला..
अंजली : मग इथेच राहायचं होतं ना सर..
असीम : पेशंट.. त्यांच्यासाठी काहीही ..
अंजली : आणि मी ..
असीम : तुझ्यासाठी तर सगळं काही .. मेरा जीवन ही तुम्हारा है .. (ताला सुरात) तुम बिन जाऊ कहाँ..
अंजली : मस्करी करताय ना सर …
असीम : नाही ग.. खरच मिस करतोय तुला ..
अंजली : मग येताय ना उद्या, माझ्या बर्थडे ला..?
असीम : तुझा बर्थडे.. आणि मी नाही येणार.. असं होईल का अंजलीना..
(अंजली फोन वरही लाजते)
आणि हो.. तुझ्यासाठी एक सरप्राइज गिफ्ट पण आहे माझ्याकडे..
अंजली : मी वाट बघतेय त्याची .. मला कल्पना आहे त्याची .. पण मला तुमच्याकडून ऐकायचं आहे ..
असीम : अंजली, तुला आठवते आपली पहिली भेट..?
अंजली : ते कसं विसरेन सर मी.. तुमच्याशी झालेल्या पहिल्या भेटीतच तुम्ही मला इंप्रेस केलं.. तुम्ही इतके सिनिअर आणि मी इतकी नवीन असतानाही तुम्ही मला ते जाणवू दिलं नाही.. म्हणून तर आपली फ्रेंडशिप झाली नं.. आणि आता तर .. (अंजली मधेच थांबत, ओठ चावते.. हे काय बोलून गेले म्हणून)
असीम : आणि आता .. ?? काय .. ??
अंजली : काही नाही .. (परत लाजते) .. तुम्ही माझ्यापासून लपवून ठेवलंत ना .. मला माहितच नव्हतं जनार्दन सर तुमचे वडील आहेत ..
असीम : त्या वेळी मला खूप मजा येत होती .. पण तुला कळल्या नंतर तू जो काही अवतार घेतला .. बापरे .. किती भाव खल्लास न तू .. लेकीन हम भी कुछ कम नही.. शेवटी मनवलं की नाही ..!!?
अंजली : मी रागावले नव्हते तर दुखावले होते .. तुम्हाला मी माझ्याबद्दल सगळं सांगितलं .. एक जवळचा मित्र म्हणून .. माझी स्वप्ने .. माझं ध्येय .. आणि तुम्ही मला तुमची साधी पूर्ण ओळखही नव्हती सांगितली .. आणि कळलं ते कसं .. तर हॉस्पिटलच्या केस साठी मी तुम्हाला बोलवलं आणि यश सरांनी तुम्हाला “दादू” म्हणून हाक मारली तेव्हा .. यश सरांकडून .. !! उशीरा का होईना पण तुम्हीच सांगितलं असतं तर तेवढं वाईट वाटलं नसतं.
असीम : सॉरी अंजली ..
अंजली : आणि तुम्ही मला हॉस्पिटल मधून सुटी काढून फिरायला घेऊन गेला होतात .. तेव्हाही तुम्हाला सांगता आलं असतं .. मी विचारलंही होतं पण तेव्हाही तुम्ही माझी मस्करीच केलीत. काय सांगितलं .. तर म्हणे माझे बाबा डॉन आहेत आणि आईपण त्यांना त्या कामात मदत करते .. नंतर तुम्ही क्लिअर केलंत तसं काही नाही म्हणून .. पण खरी ओळख नाहीच सांगितली ..
असीम : अगं, मी तुझी गंमत करत होतो .. मला बघायचं होतं की आपल्या नात्याला ..
अंजली : म्हणजे ..
असीम : आपल्या फ्रेंडशिप वर माझ्या फॅमिली चं बॅकग्राऊंग कसंही असलं तर तुझ्यावर फरक पडतो का ते ..
अंजली : कळलं कळलं हा.. पण या नंतर असं कधीच नाही वागायचं

असीम : तेव्हा तर माझं लांडगा आला रे आला.. असंच झालं.

एका बेडरूम मध्ये जयश्री पलंगावर बसलेली आहे, आणि दारातून यश आनंदात आत येत ..
यश : आई, आई ..
जयश्री : (आश्चर्याने) आलास .. इतका आनंद कशाचा झालाय ..!!?
यश : आई, आता माझी सगळी स्वप्न पूर्ण होत आहेत आणि तू सांगितल्या प्रमाणे मी विचारही करत आहे.
जयश्री : खरंच यश ..! मला पण खूप आनंद झाला हे ऐकून .. तुझी आणि अंजली ची जोडी खूप छान दिसेल.
यश (बेडवर बसत) : एक सांगू आई .. आज अंजली मुळे मी किती बदलतोय नं. आधी कसा होतो मी ..??!! सतत चिडचिड, आरडा ओरड.. आणि आता किती शांत झालोय.
जयश्री : खरं आहे.. अंजली ने तिच्या शांत, समंजस आणि गोड स्वभावाने किती लवकर सगळ्यांना लळा लावला आणि आपलंस केलं.. !?
यश : इतक्या चागल्या मुलीशी सुरुवातीला जेव्हा ती ट्रेनी डॉक्टर म्हणून हॉस्पिटल ला आली तेव्हा किती वाईट वागलो मी तिच्याशी ..!!? सतत ओरडायचो तिच्यावर.. तिची बाजू पण कधी समजून नाही घेतली.. दोन वेळा तिला काढून टाकलं .. पण तिने कधी तक्रार केली नाही ..
जयश्री : अशीच आहे अंजली.. स्वतःची चूक असेल तर मान्य करणारी आणि कधीही उलट न बोलणारी. म्हणून तर मला खूप आवडते. माझी तर मैत्रीणच झालीय ती..
यश : हो ना!!.. किती वेळ बोलत आसता न तुम्ही .. मैत्रिणींसारख्या.. ती एक गावातून आलेली ट्रेनी डॉक्टर आणि तू दोन डॉक्टर्स ची आई आणि एका डॉक्टर ची बायको .. पण तुम्ही दोघी मनाने किती जवळ आहात..
जयश्री : आपण कोण आहोत या पेक्षा आपण कसे आहोत, इतरांना आपण कसे वागवतो, यावरून आपले मित्र मैत्रीण बनतात यश. अंजली अशी आहे ना .. ज्याच्यासोबत असेल त्याच्यासारखीच वागते ..
यश : म्हणजे काय ..?! ती तिच्यासारखीच वागणार ना..
जयश्री : अरे,म्हणजे लहान मुलांसोबत लहान होऊन, वयस्कर लोकांसोबत त्याची मुलगी होऊन .. असं म्हणतेय मी ..
यश : हो.. हे अगदी खरं..!! आपल्या संजीवनी मध्ये तर तिचा फॅन क्लब च आहे. फक्त ऑफिस स्टाफ, डॉक्टर्स, नर्सेस च नाही तर सगळ्या पेशंट ची पण ती लाडकी आणि आवडती डॉक्टर आहे.
आणि ती पेशंट्स सोबत इतकी मिळून मिसळून वागायची म्हणून मी किती ओरडायचो तिच्यावर. पण आता पटतं आई, तिच्यासारखं वागता यायला हवं.
जयश्री : अगदी खरं बोललास यश. तुला माहित आहे का.. मी जेव्हा हॉस्पिटल मधे ऍडमिट होते तेव्हा मुलीप्रमाणे काळजी घेतली, मला काय हवं नको ते सगळं बघत होती.
यश : आणि आपला दादू.. मला तिचा आणि असीम दादू चा स्वभाव एकदम सेम वाटतो. तिच्याशी बोलताना वाटतं की मी दादू सोबतच बोलत आहे.
जयश्री : अरे त्यांचा स्वभाव सारखा आहे म्हणून तर दोघांची इतकी छान मैत्री आहे.
यश : आणि हो.. तिच्यामुळेच त्याचं भरकटण कमी झाली. इथे राहतो आता. आपल्या सगळ्यांवरच तिचे खूप उपकार आहेत. डॅड, सर्जरी करायला लागले, माझे आणि डॅड चे वाद कमी झाले, तुम्हा दोघांमध्ये संवाद सुरू झाला .. सगळं क्रेडिट तिचं..
जयश्री : पण ती कधी असं क्रेडिट घेत नाही बरं हो..
यश : हो ना..

संजीवनी हॉस्पिटल .. हॉस्पिटल मधील डॉक्टर्स रूम .. खूप छान सजवलेली .. सगळीकडे आनंदी वातावरण .. अंजली आपल्या मैत्रिणीबरोबर बोलत आहे. इतर हॉस्पिटल स्टाफ आणि काही डॉक्टर्स पण आहेत. अंजली च्या बर्थडे ची घाई गडबड दिसत आहे.
ओंकार : अरे.. ए.. केक मागवा लवकर.. शार्प ९ वाजता केक कट करणार अंजली .. ए अंजली (अंजली ला हाक मारत) .. शार्प ९ न .. त्याच वेळी तू आली ना जगात ..
अनु : ए.. बावळट .. चूप.. असं बोलायचं नसतं. येडा आहे का रे तू..!?
अंजली : अनु .. आताही भांडताय.. कीप क्वाइट.. माझा बर्थडे आहे न.. मग भांडायचं नाही.
ओंकार : मी नाही हा अंजली .. या हिलाच सांग .. नुसती बडबड बडबड ..
अनु : ए.. तू ..
अंजली : अरे .. थांबा..
(तेवढ्यात जयश्री येते .. अंजली कडे येत ..)
जयश्री : अंजली, वाढदिवसाच्या खूप खूप शुभेच्छा..
(अंजली जयश्रीच्या पाया पडून आशीर्वाद घेते)

जयश्री : अजून यश पण यायचा आहे. त्याच्याशिवाय कसं.. येईल तो इतक्यात.. मी आताच फोन केला होता त्याला. ऑन द वे आहे म्हणाला.
अनु (अंजली सोबत .. हळू आवाजात) : असीम सरांची वाट बघत आहेस ना ..?!?
अंजली : असं काही नाही .. अजून सगळे नाही आलेत ना .. यश सर पण यायचे आहेत
अनु (जयश्रीला) : काकू.. असीम सर नाही ..
(अंजली अनु ला शांत रहा असं खुणेनेच सांगते, पण जयश्री ने ऐकलं असतं..)
जयश्री : अगं आलाय तो .. मगाशीच .. फ्रेश होऊन येतोय.
(अंजली मनातल्या मनात खुश होते, अनु तिच्याकडे बघून थोडं चिडवल्या सारखं करते .. दोघींचा मूक संवाद सुरू असतो, सगळीकडे कॅमेरा फिरत राहतो काही वेळ .. जमलेली सगळी लोकं आपल्याला ग्रुप मधे बोलत असतात .. इतक्यात असीम येतो ..)
असीम : अरे व्वा .. क्या बात है .. सुपर्ब .. सगळं डेकोरेशन अंजलीच्या आवडीचं दिसतंय.. (अंजलीकडे बघत डोळा मारतो आणि स्माईल
करतो.)
जयश्री : तुला रे कसं माहित .. !!!? तिच्या आवडी निवडी ..?
असीम : मला माहित नसणार तर कुणाला माहित असणार ..!?
जयश्री : अरे हो की..?! तुम्ही मित्र आहात ना .. पण तुमची तर मैत्री आत्ता आत्ताची आहे. तरीही माहित आहे .. यश ला तर अजूनही माहीत नसेल ..
असीम : कळेलच लवकर आई.. जरा सब्र रखो.
जयश्री : म्हणजे ..?

यश : आवश्यकच होतं ते. नाहीतर सगळ्यांनी मिळून हॉस्पिटलच बंद ठेवलं असतं.
अंजली : काहीतरीच ..

असीम : हे जास्त महत्त्वाचं आहे. आधीच खूप उशीर झालाय. अजून नको व्हायला.

(असीम अंजलीला समोर बोलावतो .. तिच्यासमोर गुडघ्यावर बसून हातात लाल गुलाबाचं फुल घेऊन तिला प्रपोस करतो)
